Quilts

Labors of Love

Quilts are a perfect example of what we love about collecting. They were lovingly made with a simple goal - to keep the family warm.  But quilts provided a rare creative outlet for women whose lives were often hard and whose homes were typically unadorned.  1930s_quiltsWhat the women of yesterday created out of necessity, we can now appreciate on a whole different level.  Every quilt is truly a work of art that can add warmth and comfort to any room.  No matter what your style -- cottage, primitive, country or even eclectic or modern -- a quilt would be a unique and graphic addition to your home.

Our Quilt Collections

We offer a range of hand-sewn quilts from the 1880's, early 1900's, the highly collectible 1930's era as well as some great vintage country quilts, a number of child's quilts, and precious little doll quilts (we love little doll beds too). We also have a variety of quilt tops, smaller table pieces, throws and pillows of all sizes to accent your decor. Some of our items are "then-and-now" or "time-span" pieces, which Kay has created by either binding old blocks together, or combining original fabrics with period-approriate reproduction fabric. All of these wonderful items have the advantage of preserving a bit of the past in a way that can easily be incorporated into today's fresh country style.
